Moscow and New Delhi have signed a contract for the production of AK-203 submachine guns in India, Dmitry Shugaev, Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS) of Russia, said.
He noted that Russia and India have signed a number of important agreements.
"In particular, the long-awaited contract for the production of Kalashnikov assault rifles here in India, in the city of Korva," the head of the FSVTS said on the Rossiya 24 TV channel.
On the air of Sputnik radio, military observer, retired Colonel Viktor Litovkin spoke about the features of the AK-203 machine gun.
The difference between the AK-203 and the most common modifications of the Kalashnikov assault rifle is its caliber, the expert continued.
