We are talking about the conclusion of an agreement on the development of facilitated conditions for the import of military personnel, the exchange of classified information, mutual fuel supply and other technical support
TOKYO, December 6. /tass/. The French Government has offered Japan to negotiate an agreement creating conditions for regular joint military exercises. This was reported on Monday by the Sankei Shimbun newspaper, citing sources.
We are talking about the development of facilitated conditions for the import of military personnel, weapons and ammunition for joint exercises, the exchange of classified information, mutual fuel supply, and other technical support. Currently, Japan, in addition to the United States, has such agreements with Australia, Great Britain and India.
In May of this year, trilateral exercises of the armed forces of the United States, France and Japan were held on the southwestern Japanese island of Kyushu. The practice of landing air troops from warships was carried out.
Elite units of the armed forces of the United States, France and Japan have also worked out cooperation in conducting combat operations in urban conditions. This operation involving about 220 commandos simulated the delivery of troops to remote islands controlled by Japan in the East China Sea, part of which is claimed by Beijing.
In parallel with these exercises, the warships of the three countries conducted joint training in the East China Sea. The frigate of the Australian Navy also participated in them.
