Minsk. December 5th. INTERFAX-WEST - Belarus plans to complete the development of the UBAK-25 "Chekan" kamikaze drone in the first quarter of 2022, Chairman of the State Military-Industrial Committee Dmitry Pantus said.
"Work is underway on non-quadrocopter-type aircraft: UBAK-25 "Chekan" and UBAK-70 "Lovchy". "Chekan" is a kamikaze drone that has successfully passed a number of practical tests. Literally in the first quarter of next year we plan to finish this work," Pantus said in an interview with ONT TV channel on Sunday.
According to him, just a week ago, the state tests of two types of quadcopter-type UAVs were completed: "Barrage tube" and "Quadro-1400", which were used in the Belarusian-Russian exercises "West-2021".
Pantus stressed that the key task of the State Military Industry is to create and modernize various types of weapons in the interests of the army, as well as to increase the country's defense capability.
