MOSCOW, December 5/ Sputnik Radio. The Ministry of Defense of Belarus handed a protest note to the military attache at the Embassy of Ukraine in the republic in connection with the increased cases of border violations, the press service of the defense department reported.
According to the Belarusian Defense Ministry, on the eve of the Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopter violated the border between the countries near the settlement of Novaya Rudnya.
"The military attache was informed that the Ukrainian side avoids dialogue to resolve controversial issues both through international military cooperation and arms control, which is very alarming. The facts were presented, testifying to Ukraine's evasion from fulfilling obligations under regional confidence and security measures, as well as conducting an indictment against the background... the rhetoric of a number of exercises near the Belarusian border," the message reads.
The ministry added that the combination of these circumstances may actually indicate the formation of a new threat to the security of Belarus in the southern direction.
Earlier, Sputnik radio reported that Ukraine denied the violation of the airspace of Belarus.
