Rosaviatsia will send a protest through diplomatic channels in connection with the frequent cases of flights of NATO military aircraft in the area of the Russian borders and the Black Sea, which carries risks for civilian vessels. This was reported in the Federal Air Transport Agency on Saturday, December 4.
The last such case occurred on the morning of December 3. Over the open waters of the Black Sea, the NATO CL600 reconnaissance aircraft flew with an intensive descent from an altitude of 11 thousand to an altitude of 9.2 thousand meters, crossing the air traffic service route established for civilian aircraft. The crew of the reconnaissance aircraft did not respond to repeated requests.
During this period, the flight routes of two civil aircraft ran through the same area: Aeroflot Airlines (en route to Sheremetyevo Airport) and a Maltese plane en route from Sochi. The routes of civil vessels had to be changed promptly due to the current situation.
On December 4, the Russian airline Aeroflot confirmed the information about the change of the echelon of a civilian airliner flying from Tel Aviv to Moscow, at the direction of the dispatcher, as another aircraft crossed its trajectory. There were 142 passengers on board the plane.
