The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation hopes that the certification of the MS-21 aircraft will be completed by the end of this year. This was announced to TASS on December 4 by the head of the department Denis Manturov.
"We are doing everything to try to make it this year," he said.
On July 20, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the newest Russian aircraft MS-21 will soon be on the highway.
A day earlier it was reported that foreign airlines are showing interest in the Russian medium-haul aircraft MS-21.
MS-21 is a family of new generation Russian passenger aircraft. They will be released in several versions from 150 to 211 seats. The first flight of such an aircraft was made in May 2017. In December 2020, the MS-21-310 took off for the first time with Russian PD-14 engines.
In May 2021, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that there would be no analogues of the MS-21 in Russia's competitors in the near future.
Rossiya Airlines is going to start operating the MS-21 aircraft in the summer of 2022, and Red Wings expects to deliver the first two of the 16 aircraft of this series in 2023.
