Washington. December 4th. INTERFAX - The US army launched a drone strike in Syria, its target was one of the influential field commanders of Al-Qaeda (a terrorist organization banned in Russia), a representative of the Central Command said on Saturday on the American Fox News channel.

"On December 3, the US armed forces struck near Idlib in Syria, the target was an influential leader and planner of Al-Qaeda. The exact blow was delivered from the MQ-9 aircraft," said Captain Bill Urban.

According to him, "initial data indicate possible losses among civilians."
