The large anti-submarine ship Admiral Panteleev and the ASEAN warships during the ARNEX-2021 exercises in Indonesia worked out joint tactical maneuvering, communication organization and rescue at sea. "An active part of the first joint naval exercises of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the Russian Navy ARNEX-2021 is taking place off the coast of Indonesia near Ve Island. They involve warships from Russia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Brunei and Myanmar. The Russian Federation is represented by the large anti-submarine ship Admiral Panteleev," the message says.
It is noted that during the exercises, the ships as part of the international compound worked out tasks for joint tactical maneuvering. "The sailors also conducted a communication training, during which they exchanged information in radio networks, as well as using light-signaling equipment," the ministry said.
The ministry clarified that as part of the episode of the rescue exercises at sea, the participants solved the tasks of finding and helping a person overboard. "It involved a Ka-27PS deck search and rescue helicopter from Admiral Panteleev, as well as helicopters from other ships of the detachment," the Defense Ministry said.
The ministry noted that the participants of ARNEX-2021 practiced in the survey of civil vessels that arouse suspicion and vessels in distress. The algorithm of actions during the inspection operation of a suspicious vessel has been worked out. "Currently, the ships of eight countries continue to solve problems at sea," the ministry noted.
