On Thursday, December 2, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu presented state awards, honorary regimental and ship cups to the best military formations, medical and educational organizations of the Armed Forces.
Their achievements in ensuring the security of the country, strengthening the defense capability of the state, training qualified military personnel are noted in the Decrees of the President of the Russian Federation. The Head of state awarded the Order of Zhukov to the Fifth Combined Arms Army of the Eastern Military District, the Mozhaisky Military Space Academy and the Novosibirsk Higher Military Command School. The Order of Nakhimov was awarded to the 31st Red Banner Division of submarines of the Northern Fleet. The Main Military Clinical Hospital named after Burdenko was awarded the Order of Alexander Nevsky.
"This is a sign of recognition of the contribution of your military collectives to strengthening the defense capability of the state, ensuring its security and national interests," Shoigu said at the ceremony, which took place in the atrium of the National Defense Management Center of the Russian Federation. The Minister expressed confidence that the high awards, symbolizing the valor, patriotism and dedication of the Russian army, "will be a good incentive for further improvement of professional skills, will serve to preserve the best traditions of our Fatherland."
The best military collectives were not deprived of departmental awards. By order of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, honorary ship bowls were awarded to the Northern, Baltic, Black Sea and Pacific Fleets, the Caspian Flotilla, as well as the nuclear submarine cruiser Vladimir Monomakh of the 25th Division of submarines of the Pacific Fleet for merits in strengthening the country's defense capability and its national security, high combat training and professional skills shown by the personnel. Regimental bowls were received by the 121st Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiment of the 22nd Heavy Bomber Aviation Division and the 104th Airborne Assault Regiment.

The regimental (ship's) cup is a badge of military valor awarded to military formations. It symbolizes unity, cohesion, military brotherhood. In November 2018, the first regimental cup was awarded to the command of the 112th Missile Brigade of the Western Military District. This is the only unit in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation awarded with seven orders.
