Last Wednesday, the 120th Separate Guards mechanized brigade of the Belarusian army hosted the presentation of armored personnel carriers BTR-82A. This is reported in the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus.
The equipment was received by the personnel of the 339th separate motorized rifle battalion. The event was held in a solemn atmosphere, under the combat banner of the unit and during the general formation of personnel.
The commander of the North-Western Operational Command, Major General Alexander Naumenko, who spoke, recalled that it is necessary to master the entrusted weapons and always be ready to defend the country.
The crews of newly manufactured armored vehicles in Russia received forms from the equipment.
After a three-time "Hurrah!" and a march, the fighters under the battle banner went to the places of storage of equipment.
The first information about the BTR-82A for the Belarusian ground forces was made public at the end of September this year. Then it was reported about the arrival of armored personnel carriers at the Ozerishche railway station. It was also mentioned that it is equipped with sights and means of communication manufactured at national enterprises.
It was assumed that the "eighty-second" would be sent to one of the mechanized formations, by which the 120th brigade was meant. Also, several cars will be transferred to the 72nd training center and the military academy.
Currently, these armored personnel carriers are the most modern wheeled combat infantry delivery vehicles in the armed forces of this State. Previously, the most common models here were the BTR-80 created in the first half of the 80s, as well as the BTR-70MB1 modernized by local enterprises.
