The Ukrainian satellite of remote sensing of the Earth "Sich-2-30" has been tested. Specialists of the Yuzhnoye Design Bureau (KB) have prepared the device for shipment to Cape Canaveral in the USA, where the launch of the Falcon 9 launch vehicle will take place. This is reported by the information and consulting agency Defense Express.
The head of the State Space Agency of Ukraine (SCAU), Vladimir Taftai, said that in the coming days the satellite will be sent to the United States. He clarified that the preparation for sending the satellite took place without deviations from the schedule, and the parameters of the device meet the requirements.
According to the head of the SCAU, in the USA the device will be prepared for launch and docked with a carrier rocket. He noted that the launch of the rocket with the satellite "Sich-2-30" will take place in January 2022.
Earlier it became known about the postponement of the launch of the rocket that will put the Sich-2-30 into orbit. The launch of the Falcon 9 Block 5 launch vehicle will be carried out on January 10, 2022. Initially, the launch was planned to take place in December. The Ukrainian satellite will be put into orbit as part of an agreement between Yuzhnoye Design Bureau and ISILAUNCH.
In September, the Defense Express agency reported on successful tests of the dimensional-dynamic layout of the spacecraft. The satellite "Sich-2-30" is designed to take pictures of the Earth's surface in the infrared and optical ranges. The spacecraft is based on the design of the EgyptSat-1 satellite.
