TSAMTO, December 1. In the new academic year, the Novorossiysk Naval Base (NWMB) of the Black Sea Fleet launched a training cycle for submarine crews at the Afalina training complex (UTK) for rescue and light diving training.
The uniqueness of the first training complex in the Russian Navy, which opened on the territory of the NWMB in 2020, consists in equipping a training place to simulate deep-sea space, which allows you to work out more than 10 elements of diving training, including underwater descents, a diver entering a torpedo tube and a diving tower.
During the training, the military personnel in practice consolidate the skills of diving operations, practice evacuation from an emergency submarine through a torpedo tube, leaving an emergency ship using individual and collective means of rescue. The equipment of the complex allows you to create conditions for submariners as close as possible to real ones.
All classes are supervised by instructors, the actions of the trainees are accompanied by video recording for further analysis of the mistakes made.
The equipment of the Afalina UTK allows for the safe and effective training of divers. The estimated capacity of the training complex is up to 25 trainees.
In addition to the Afalina UTK, the Hephaestus and Caspian training complexes are functioning on the territory of the association, designed to practice actions to combat the survivability of ships and submarines, the press service of the Southern Military District reports.
