The planes of the Russian Ministry of Defense, consisting of three sides, arrived in Kabul and delivered 36 tons of humanitarian cargo to the Afghan capital. This was announced on Wednesday, December 1, by the press service of the Russian department.
"Three Il-76 military transport planes of the Russian Defense Ministry delivered humanitarian cargo to Kabul airport and are landing evacuated citizens for departure from Afghanistan," the Russian Defense Ministry added.
The ministry clarified that in order to provide medical assistance and support to evacuated citizens of Russia and other countries, medical and nursing teams of military doctors with medical equipment and medicines are on each plane. There is a supply of drinking water, blankets and individual food rations on military transport planes for the evacuation of people from Afghanistan.
This evacuation will be the third in a row. More than 380 citizens of Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and Afghan students of Russian universities will be taken out of Afghanistan by military transport aircraft of the Russian Federation.
The evacuation was organized on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin by the Minister of Defense, Army General Sergei Shoigu. For the removal of citizens from Afghanistan, an aviation group of three military transport aircraft was created. They flew from the Chkalovsky airfield to Kabul and back.
On November 18, Russian planes evacuated more than 200 citizens of the Russian Federation, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Ukraine and Afghanistan. The evacuees were accompanied by military medics from the medical and nursing teams.
On November 30, it became known that residents of Kabul complained about a shortage of medicines in pharmacies. The head of the Union of Medical Services of Afghanistan, Assadula Kakar, said that many pharmaceutical companies have ceased operations due to a shortage of raw materials for the production of medicines.
