What is the protection of Russia from the possible appearance of attack complexes threatening it near the Russian borders, military expert Yuri Knutov told Sputnik radio.
Russia can already respond to the possible appearance of attack complexes threatening Moscow in Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"If there are any shock complexes on the territory of Ukraine, the flight time to Moscow will be seven to ten, and in the case of placing hypersonic weapons – five minutes. (...) And what should we do? Then we will have to create something similar in relation to those who threaten us so. Can you imagine? And we can do it now ... I hope it won't come to that," Putin said during a speech at the investment forum "Russia is calling!".
On the air of Sputnik radio, military expert, director of the Museum of Air Defense Forces Yuri Knutov noted that thanks to modern anti-aircraft missile systems, the territory of Russia is reliably protected.
The expert clarified that such means include both missiles of various bases and fighter aircraft armed with air-to-ground missiles.
Therefore, the military expert concluded, any country should think about whether it is worth placing strike complexes threatening Russia on its territory.
