It is believed that it is an independently created version of the first-generation Soviet BMP by Egyptian designers. She has a characteristic tandem crew arrangement consisting of two people.
Their hatches are located on the left side of the hull, next to the engine and transmission compartment, in which the 400-horsepower engine is placed. The maximum speed on the highway is 65 km/h.
The chassis, in comparison with the basic model, has five support rollers on each side.
Six fully equipped military personnel can be transported in the landing compartment. Each of them has an observation device and a loophole for the use of small arms. There are hatches in the stern of the hull and in the roof for landing and disembarkation.
It was reported that during the development, much attention was paid to security issues, especially from mines and homemade land mines.
A 12.7 mm machine gun in a remote-controlled combat module is installed as an armament. In the future, the use of more powerful means of destruction, including guided anti-tank missiles, is likely. The combat weight reaches 13,800 kg.
As expected, Sinai 200 production will be deployed in the vicinity of the Egyptian capital at plant No. 200, where American M1A1 Abrams main battle tanks were assembled.
As for the BMP-1, they are still being operated by the Egyptian ground forces, and they are not going to abandon them. It was reported that more than 90 pieces from the Greek army should be added to the existing two hundred.
