The Director General of Roscosmos noted that "he has already instructed the general designer of RSC Energia to consider the creation of a manned and cargo ship for flights to ROSS
MOSCOW, November 29. /tass/. The frequency of flights to the promising Russian Orbital Service Station (ROSS) will be higher than to the International Space Station (ISS). This was announced by Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin to journalists on Monday.
"The frequency of flights will be higher than now, so it [the ship] should be all the more cheap," Rogozin said after the ceremony of awarding the Gagarin prizes of the Russian Government in the field of space activities for 2021.
According to the head of Roscosmos, he has already instructed the general designer of RSC Energia, Vladimir Solovyov, to consider the creation of a universal manned and cargo ship, the so-called "Eaglet", for flights to ROSS. "RSC Energia will definitely prescribe not only the architecture of ROSS, but also how to fly there," he said.
The promising space manned spacecraft "Eagle" (formerly called "Federation") is being created as part of the Russian lunar program. The first launch of the Eagle without astronauts on board is scheduled for December 15, 2023 from the Vostochny cosmodrome, a lightweight version of the ship was named the Eaglet. Earlier, Roscosmos reported that at least 90% of the components of the Eagle ship will be used when creating the Eaglet. This ship will be a two-seater and lighter than the four-seater Eagle.
Earlier, Rogozin stated that new technical means for manned cosmonautics will appear in the Russian Federation at the turn of 2026-2027.
