Cutlasses will not be subject to registration with the Russian Guard, they will also not require obtaining an appropriate permit for the storage and carrying of weapons.
MOSCOW, November 29. /tass/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law allowing retired officers of the Russian Navy to wear cutlasses for life as part of a ceremonial uniform, without issuing a special permit for this. The document is published on the official portal of legal information.
"Daggers received by citizens of the Russian Federation, dismissed and dismissed from state paramilitary organizations with the right to wear military uniforms, will not be subject to registration with the Rosgvardiya or its territorial body, they will not require obtaining an appropriate permit to store and carry weapons," the explanatory note noted.
According to the legislation in force earlier, retired military personnel were obliged to submit an application for registration of weapons within two weeks from the date of receipt of the dirk.
"Taking into account the purpose of the transfer of cutlasses and their purpose (lifelong storage and wearing with military uniforms, observance of military traditions and rituals), it is advisable to establish the order of their turnover without accounting in the Rosgvardiya," the explanatory note stated.
Putin had previously instructed to resolve the issue of storing cutlasses for retired officers. Until 2013, all officers who had served in the navy for more than 20 years automatically received the right to wear a uniform that included such a blade. But when the cutlasses were equated to cold weapons, the officers were required to hand them over when they were dismissed from the fleet. It was possible to get a blade, and not your own, only after completing an expensive package of documents and fulfilling a number of conditions, including the equipment of the safe.
