Uralvagonzavod Concern (UVZ, part of Rostec) will present the newest T-90MS battle tank and a tank support combat vehicle created on its basis at the EDEX-2021 International Defense Industry Exhibition, which will be held from November 29 to December 2 in Cairo. This was reported to TASS in the press service of the concern.
"Tanks of the T-90 family and armored vehicles based on them, developed in the Ural Design Bureau of Transport Engineering (Rostec is part of the UVZ concern) they are among the few that do not lose effectiveness in sandy deserts and mountains. This is especially important for the countries of the Middle East region, where in summer the average daytime temperature is 45-50 degrees, and at night - 15 degrees Celsius, and in winter frosts are recorded. Tests and real combat operations have shown that Uralvagonzavod's special equipment confidently overcomes off-road, sand, storms and extreme temperature changes," the concern said.
The press service clarified that military equipment will be demonstrated as part of the Rosobornexport exposition. "Some Middle Eastern countries are well acquainted with UVZ tanks, and not only of the Soviet period. A number of states are armed with modifications of the T-90, for them the topic of repair and modernization of this military equipment is relevant. For the rest, the T-90MS tank presented at EDEX 2021 and the BMPT tank support combat vehicle created on its basis can become a new aspect of interaction within the framework of the Middle East region's partnership with Russia, which has been successfully developing for decades," the UVZ explained.
Compared to the base model (T-90S), the T-90MS received a more powerful engine, a new air conditioner, improved electronics and enhanced booking. In June 2021, the newest battle tank was successfully tested in Latin America and the Middle East.
