The head of Roscosmos noted that the architecture of the Berth will be different from the ISS
KOROLEV /Moscow region/, November 26. /tass/. The Berth node module will become a prototype of similar modules for the Russian Orbital Service Station (ROSS), which will be the "joints" of its space body. This was announced by Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin at the Mission Control Center (MCC).
"This is one of the most important prototypes of the creation of ROSS, the architecture of which will be different from the ISS. It should be such that it is eternal: the modules that recoup the resource will be uncoupled from the station and it will be built up in another direction with the help of such nodal modules that will be some joints of a new large metal design engineering body," Rogozin said.
The Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket with the ship and the module launched at 16:06 Moscow time on Wednesday, and on Friday the Berth docked to the Nauka module.
The new module will expand the possibilities of docking with the ISS of Russian ships, including the new ship "Eagle". In total, five objects will be able to dock to it. For the first time, the Soyuz manned spacecraft is due to dock at the new node module on March 18 next year.
