MOSCOW, November 26. /tass/. The draft program on nuclear space energy (nuclear tugboat "Zeus") is under discussion of resource provision. This was announced on Friday by the Executive director of Roscosmos for Advanced Programs and Science, Alexander Bloshenko.
"We are still in discussions about its resource provision," he said at the Photovoltaics-2021 industry meeting held at the Kvant NPP.
What specific resource provision is being discussed, Bloshenko did not specify.
Earlier, Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin announced plans to protect the nuclear space energy project in the Government of the Russian Federation by the end of the year.
In December last year, it became known that Roscosmos and the Arsenal Design Bureau signed a contract for the development of an advance project of the nuclear tugboat "Nucleon", which will be used for flights into deep space. The contract value is more than 4.17 billion rubles. It was concluded on December 10. The end date of the contract is indicated as July 28, 2024. At the end of December, Rogozin announced that the device would be called "Zeus". Its first mission is scheduled for 2030.
