The North-Western Transport Prosecutor's Office sent a criminal case to the court about a violation of safety rules during the conduct of work, which caused the death of two persons by negligence and caused damage in the amount of about 70 million rubles.
According to investigators, on October 29, 2018, the head of the floating dock of the joint-stock company "82 Ship Repair Plant" did not ensure uniform flooding of the ballast compartments of the dock with seawater. In this regard, when the dock with the cruiser Admiral Kuznetsov was loaded into the Kola Bay, it sank.
As a result, two workers of the ship repair plant were killed. In addition, a tower crane fell on the cruiser, which caused damage of almost 70 million rubles to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
Earlier, Federal Press reported that the director of the plant where the Admiral Kuznetsov cruiser is being repaired was arrested in Murmansk.
