The American missile destroyer Arleigh Burke is sent to the Black Sea. It is assumed that the ship under the abbreviation DDG-51 will take part in operations with other NATO countries.
"Arleigh Burke (DDG-51) has begun a northward passage to the Black Sea to begin working with NATO allies and partners in the region," the US Navy's Sixth Fleet press service said on Twitter .
It should be noted that the destroyer, with a displacement of 6,630 tons, is armed with two Aegis (BIUS) launchers - a bow for 29 Tomahawk cruise missiles and a stern for 61 missiles. The ship also has artillery and mine weapons. The crew is 337 people. The speed is 32 knots, and the maximum cruising range is 4,400 nautical miles.
According to TASS, the forces and means of the Russian Black Sea Fleet are continuously monitoring the US ships in the Black Sea. One of the goals of the American ships' campaign is the military development of the territory of Ukraine.
