The range of Russian military equipment on the international market will be expanded due to heavy attack drones and kamikaze drones.
- We are witnessing a serious increase in the interest of foreign partners in Russian-made unmanned aircraft. In 2021, the Orion-E reconnaissance and strike aircraft was launched on the foreign market, and more than a dozen contract negotiations are currently underway on it. More than 50 Orlan-20E UAVs have been delivered to customers. In the near future, the export line will expand due to new models, among them heavy attack drones and kamikaze drones," said Alexander Mikheev, head of Rosoboronexport, before the opening of the EDEX-2021 international arms exhibition in Egypt.
The Orion drone is the first Russian UAV with a long flight duration. It is capable of being in the air for up to 24 hours, traveling at a cruising speed of 200 km/h. During the modernization, the drone was able not only to conduct reconnaissance, but also to strike at ground targets. To do this, it was equipped with three suspension points and developed adjustable bombs and guided missiles with a caliber of up to 50 kilograms.
Serial production of drones will begin in 2022.
