Work is already underway, the state corporation reported
MOSCOW, November 25. /tass/. Roscosmos plans to complete the creation of the National Center for Remote Sensing of the Earth by 2025. This was stated on Thursday by the deputy director of the Department of Navigation space Systems of Roscosmos Valery Zaichko.
During the interdepartmental commission on the use of the results of space activities in the interests of the socio-economic development of the Russian Federation and the regions, Zaichko noted that, on behalf of the President of Russia, Roscosmos is creating a National Remote Sensing Center, which would be the main center of the entire Russian remote sensing space system.
"We will have such a center created by 2024-2025. Work is already underway. And this is one of the key elements of the infrastructure that will not only control the spacecraft, plan the space survey, but also collect information resources and form services and services," he said.
According to Zaichko, a full-fledged ground infrastructure has already been created in the field of remote sensing - data collection, storage and processing stations. It consists of 18 remote sensing data reception centers located throughout Russia and abroad.
Earlier it was reported that the National Remote Sensing Center should have nine information reception complexes in its composition, provide reception and processing of space information from remote sensing satellites Meteor, Canopus, Resurs, Obzor and other promising devices, including non-state ones.
In addition, the center will provide automated management of a single geographically distributed remote sensing system, as well as assessment and quality control of data received from satellites. As part of the remote sensing center, it is planned to create hardware and software complexes for a situation center, a computing cluster, a thematic data processing center, a service center and a technology center.
