The United Kingdom, France and Germany (the "eurotroika" on Iran) expressed concern that Iran's continuation of the uranium enrichment program could allow Tehran to move to the creation of nuclear weapons.
The joint statement of the three countries states that with further enrichment of Iran's existing stocks of fissile material, it is possible to produce more than one nuclear munition.
It is noted that the accumulation of uranium enriched by 20% and 60% "reduces the time required for Iran to create the first nuclear munition."
At the same time, Eurotoroyka drew attention to the fact that "Iran has also accumulated the necessary knowledge that is crucial for the production of nuclear weapons."
The statement stresses that Iran "has no plausible civil justification for enriching uranium by 20 and 60%, and the production of highly enriched uranium is unprecedented for a state that does not have a weapons program."
