Russian anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) "Buk-M2E" and "Pantsir-S" destroyed missiles fired by Israel at Syria, said the deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the warring parties in the Syrian Arab Republic, Rear Admiral Vadim Kulit, RIA Novosti writes.
According to him, Israeli F-16 fighter jets fired 12 rockets from Lebanese airspace on the night of Monday to Tuesday, from November 22 to 23. The strike was carried out by guided missiles on objects in the territory of the province of Homs. The air defense forces on duty of the Syrian army responded to it. Ten missiles were destroyed with the help of Russian weapons.
As Kulit clarified, one Syrian serviceman was injured during Israel's actions.
In July, the Russian Buk-M2E air defense systems, which are in service with the Syrian troops, destroyed two missiles fired by F-16 fighters of the Israeli Air Force. Then the planes struck targets in the province of Damascus.
