Kyrgyzstan starts supplying military products to Russia. Yesterday, on November 23, the TASS news agency reported that the Dastan Corporation signed a contract with the Russian Navy for the supply of equipment.
"Today, a contract was signed with Rosoboronexport on the supply of 54 hardware modules for 459 million soms ($5.4 million) for the Russian Navy on the territory of our plant. This equipment will be sent from Kyrgyzstan to one of the Russian factories in the near future," the press service of the Dastan Corporation reported.

The company "Dastan" was founded in 1956 and produces defense products. In Soviet times, the company was engaged in the manufacture of naval torpedoes. In Soviet times, up to 400 torpedoes were manufactured at Dastan per year, later these volumes decreased by 10-20 times. In 2009, Russia planned to buy out a controlling stake in this enterprise, but later abandoned these intentions.
In October of this year, Dastan Corporation signed a contract with the Indian company BFL for the supply of equipment worth about $10 million. Most likely, the contract includes the modernization of more than 100 sets of anti-submarine torpedoes, which were previously agreed by the parties. As the portal writes economist.kg Since last year, India has successfully tested six torpedoes upgraded in Kyrgyzstan. It is known that Dastan is upgrading the SET-65 torpedoes for India (a Soviet anti-submarine homing electric torpedo of 533 mm caliber designed to destroy submarines) and TEST-71 (an anti-submarine remote-controlled electric homing acoustic torpedo for hitting submarines).
