Moscow. November 24. INTERFAX - More than 20 thousand basic weapons, about two million pieces of equipment and support equipment were sent to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation from 2018 to 2020, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.
"As part of the implementation of the State Armament Program from 2018 to 2020, more than 20 thousand basic weapons, about two million pieces of equipment and support equipment, as well as about six hundred thousand ammunition and weapons of destruction have been delivered to the troops," Shoigu said at a meeting of the board of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on Wednesday.
According to him, the coronavirus and rising prices for raw materials did not disrupt plans to equip the army and navy with the latest models of military equipment. "Despite the restrictions due to the coronavirus, the rise in prices for raw materials, we managed to achieve the planned indicators for the development of the army and navy weapons systems," the minister stressed.
