The new Berth node module will allow up to five Russian ships to dock simultaneously to the International Space Station (ISS), thereby expanding the technical capabilities of the Russian segment. In addition, the Berth will provide fuel transfer from cargo ships to other modules of the station, the transmission of recharging and the transmission of information between docked objects.
The launch of the Progress M-UM spacecraft with the Berth node module on the Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket from the Baikonur cosmodrome is scheduled for 16:06 Moscow time on November 24. Docking to the multipurpose laboratory module "Nauka" is planned on November 26.
