Improving the nutrition of military personnel when they perform tasks in high-altitude conditions was discussed today at a meeting of the Working Group under the Council of Defense Ministers of the CSTO. The meeting was devoted to the logistical support of the Collective Forces of the organization.
"During the meeting, the issues of domestic coordination of the draft Regulations on stocks of materiel to support the CSTO troops, maintenance and updating of stocks of materiel for the formations of the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian region and Collective Rapid Reaction Forces, as well as the procedure for transporting personnel, weapons and military equipment from one CSTO member state to another in case of encroachment on its sovereignty and territorial integrity were considered," Vladislav Shchegrikovich, the press secretary of the Joint Staff, said.
At the same time, taking into account the terrain in the countries of Central Asia, it was noted that soldiers in the mountains need not just reinforced rations, but special rations. Now the Ministry of Defense of Kyrgyzstan has tested a new version of a special dry ration, which included national types of camping food.
"It was decided to continue further elaboration of this topic within the framework of the research work "Coalition-MTO-22", which opens in 2022 at the Military Academy of Logistics named after Army General A.V. Khrulev," Vladislav Shchegrikovich added.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the logistics management bodies of the defense departments of the CSTO member states and the Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov.
