Sending weapons and advisers from the United States to Ukraine is fraught with a repetition of the Afghan scenario, the State Duma warns

Moscow. November 23. INTERFAX - Kiev should remember the fate of Afghanistan in the light of reports about the possible sending of weapons and advisers to Ukraine by the United States, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defense Andrei Kartapolov said.

"All the aspirations of the United States to help Ukraine are leading it to the abyss," Kartapolov told Interfax on Tuesday, offering to recall "how the American adventure in Afghanistan ended."

"Will Ukrainians then have to cling to departing American planes and helicopters? And when the hour comes, these advisers and assistants will no longer be around," the deputy added.
