Kiev. November 23. INTERFAX-UKRAINE - Today's activity on the part of the Russian Federation is primarily aimed at "destabilization within Ukraine, NATO countries and the EU," Ukrainian Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov said.
"It seems to me that today's activity on the part of the Russian Federation is primarily aimed at several things. This is destabilization inside Ukraine, this is destabilization inside the Alliance countries, destabilization inside the EU countries. That is, in such a differentiation, destabilization, they will look for a pragmatic positive for themselves," Reznikov claimed on the air of the program "Freedom of Speech" on the ICTV channel on Monday.
Reznikov recalled that he had held meetings with the US and UK Defense Ministers Lloyd Austin and Ben Wallace. According to him, Ukraine is "more calm" than they are, assessing the threat and risks from the alleged "actions of the Russian Federation at its borders."
"I can assure you that both in our estimates and in the fact that their intelligence gives in comparison with our intelligence, we absolutely coincide. Perhaps we have a slightly different assessment. I will explain what the difference is - that we are more likely to calmly perceive the threat and risks, because we are already used to it with you. (...) All the facts of the increase in the number of vehicles along our borders are not news to us, they occurred every exercise, training conducted by our unfriendly neighbors," the head of the Defense Ministry said.
At the same time, Reznikov called it a "positive moment" that finally the civilized Western world through its media "saw" what was happening, and this, in his opinion, strengthens Ukraine's position.
