The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, on Sunday, November 21, in an interview with Military Times, reported on the first use of the American Javelin anti-tank missile system (ATGM) in the Donbass.
According to the head of Ukrainian military intelligence, Javelin ATGMs together with Turkish Bayraktar drones will become a significant psychological deterrent in the conflict with the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR).
Budanov also stressed that Kiev needs the support of the United States, while Washington, he is sure, should provide it as soon as possible.
In addition, in his opinion, Russia allegedly incites unrest in Ukraine and draws attention to the people's actions against the current government.
On Sunday, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that the West is artificially whipping up hysteria with its statements about Russia's alleged preparation for an attack on Ukraine, provocations in this regard are not excluded. At the same time, the official representative of the Kremlin added that such behavior is "not quite logical and not quite decent."
The North Atlantic Alliance needs to stop provocative activities at the borders of the Russian Federation and stop promoting its political and military infrastructure to the borders of the Russian Federation, he stressed.
Earlier, Western media repeatedly published articles about the alleged possible Russian invasion. So, on November 20, the CBS News channel, citing sources, assured that allegedly such a threat is growing with the approach of cold weather.
On November 12, Dmitry Polyansky, the first Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, denied information about the alleged plans for Russia's invasion of Ukraine. He stressed that the country has never planned this and does not plan it.
Russian President Vladimir Putin called such accusations alarmist. He pointed out that NATO exercises using strategic weapons in the Black Sea pose a challenge for the Russian Federation, but Moscow will not escalate the situation.
Since 2014, the Kiev authorities have been conducting a military operation against the residents of Donbass, who refused to recognize the results of the coup and the new government in Ukraine. At the same time, Kiev blames Moscow for the current situation. Russia has repeatedly stated that it is not a party to the internal Ukrainian conflict.
