Americans are preparing a new revolution in the aircraft industry. Yesterday, November 18, the press service of Otto Aviation announced the successful completion of the first stage of flight tests of the Celera 500L aircraft.
During the first stage of testing, the Celera 500L, nicknamed "bullet" for the unusual shape of the fuselage, made 55 sorties, flying 51 hours. The aircraft reached speeds of up to 400 km/ h and climbed to an altitude of 4600 m. During the next stage, he will have to reach a speed of 740 km / h and climb to a height of 15 km.

By 2023, the developers intend to certify a new aircraft, and in 2025 to release the first production samples from the assembly line. It is planned that the aircraft will be able to revolutionize air transportation by providing a ratio of high speed and non-stop flight range at a low cost per flight hour - $328 versus more than $ 2,000 for most aircraft.
"We believe that the Celera 500L is the greatest event that will happen to both the aviation and tourism industries in the last 50 years. In addition to using our aircraft for passenger transportation, it can be used for cargo operations and military purposes," said William Otto Sr., Chairman and Chief Scientist of Otto Aviation.
Serial production of the Celera 500L is planned for 2025. In the future, Otto Aviation intends to release an enlarged version of the Celera 1000L aircraft, as well as a drone based on the Celera 500L.
