MOSCOW, Nov 19 - RIA Novosti. Japanese fighter jets escorting Russian Tu-95MS during their joint patrol with Chinese bombers over the Pacific Ocean flew close enough to get caught on camera.
In the video published by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Japanese fighters are approaching the Tu-95ms at almost the same distance at which the Russian fighters accompanying them are flying. At one point, the operator zooms in on the image so that the outlines of the pilot in the cockpit of a Japanese aircraft become visible.
Earlier, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported to President Vladimir Putin on the successful completion of tasks during the joint air patrol by long-range aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces and Chinese military aviation over the waters of the Japanese and East China Seas. As the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov clarified, at certain stages of the route, strategic missile carriers were accompanied by F-16 and F-15 of the Japanese Air Force.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation said that the patrol was conducted by an air group consisting of two Tu-95ms strategic bombers of the Russian Aerospace Forces and two Hun-6k strategic bombers of the PLA Air Force.
