MOSCOW, Nov 19 - RIA Novosti. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu informed Russian President Vladimir Putin about the successful completion of tasks during the joint air patrol by long-range aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces and Chinese military aviation in the Asia-Pacific region over the waters of the Japanese and East China Seas.
The corresponding report was made by the head of the Defense Ministry at a meeting of the president with permanent members of the Security Council of the Russian Federation on Friday, the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov said.
At some stages of the route, strategic missile carriers were accompanied by F-16 and F-15 of the Japanese Air Force, Peskov added.
The duration of the flight was more than 10 hours.
"According to the report, the Su-35S aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces provided fighter escort for strategic bombers. The aircraft were controlled in the air from the A-50U radar patrol and guidance aircraft," Peskov said.
"The joint patrol was carried out in strict accordance with the provisions of international law. There were no violations of the airspace of foreign states," he said.
