The debut of the export version of the Mi-28N attack helicopter at the Dubai Airshow-2021 weapons exhibition was a success. Foreign military experts spoke with delight about the car and noted the high combat potential of the "Night Hunter".
"Russia is among the very few countries that develop and produce specialized attack helicopters. This circle is getting narrower, since in terms of firepower and protection, only the American AH-64 Apache can compare with the Mi-28NE and Ka-52E," the Arabian Defense publication notes.
By the way, it was for the extensive arsenal of the Mi-28NE that NATO called Havoc - "Devastator".
"The Mi-28NE have a powerful arsenal, which includes automatic 30-mm cannons, three types of anti-tank missiles with a range of 6 and 10 km, guided aerial bombs of the air-missile class and aerial bombs weighing up to 500 kg," admires the Indomiliter portal.
In order to show all the possibilities of the "Night Hunter" in action, Russian pilots have prepared a large program of aerobatics at low altitudes. Under the control of the Hero of Russia Sergey Barkov, the Mi-28NE helicopter demonstrated combat turns, diving, tail-first flight, slides, hovering and climbing with rotation.
However, the greatest impression on foreigners was made by the security and survivability of the helicopter, which, as experts noted, was tested in the skies of Syria.
"The main rotor blades of the Night Hunter are capable of withstanding a 30-mm projectile. It can be flown with one engine if the other is damaged. "Night Hunter" is characterized by high survivability. The front and side windows of the cab are armored. The cabin of the Mi-28NE is protected by ceramic armor," the publication notes.
"The Mi-28NE is also equipped with multicyclone dust protection devices with a new principle of air purification and high efficiency of dust removal from the air supplied to the engines during taxiing, takeoff, landing and hovering over dusty areas. This is of particular importance for African countries," sums up the advantages of the helicopter African Military Blog.
