MOSCOW, Nov 19 - RIA Novosti. Rosgvardiya did not order work on the creation of a robot "turtle" to disperse the demonstration, the department does not feel the need for such machines, official representative of the department Valery Gribakin told RIA Novosti.
Previously on the site Rospatent published an abstract of the invention of the Kabardino-Balkarian Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in which scientists presented a project of a tracked robot to disperse demonstrations and prevent terrorist attacks. Because of the streamlined body, the car looks like a turtle. It was also noted that a robot armed with a stun gun, mesh guns and fast-hardening foam could be used by the troops of the Russian Guard.
"Rosgvardiya has nothing to do with the development of this sample. These works were not ordered, since such products are not of interest to the department," Gribakin said.
According to the scientists of the KBSC RAS, the turtle robot was to be produced in two modifications: a high-speed (50-60 kilometers per hour) robot operative, which would "dissect" clusters of people and detain individual violators with the help of mesh guns, stun guns, foam sprayers and irritating substances installed on it. The second option is shield-carrying robots designed to install barriers separating the "rampaging crowd" into parts, as well as blocking violators from direct physical contact with law enforcement officers.
As indicated in the patent, the features of the robot's body and chassis allow it to reach speeds exceeding the speed of any pedestrian or rider on a horse.
