Apple plans to release an unmanned vehicle, its appearance is scheduled for 2025, Bloomberg reports, citing a source. It is noted that at the beginning of the year, the company's engineers set an estimated time frame for the development of the vehicle in five to seven years.
The source said that the company has set itself an ambitious task to complete the test of an unmanned vehicle system in such a short time. If the goal is not achieved, the release of the product can either be postponed, or its sale will begin with a simpler technology. They plan to create an autonomous car without a steering wheel and pedals, and they want to design its interior so that the car can be controlled without the help of hands.
Earlier, designers from the Vanarama bureau created a three-dimensional model of the future Apple car based on patents filed by the corporation. Externally, the disclosed model resembles a Cybertrack electric pickup from Tesla, but has less sharp body angles. The future car will receive a crossover form factor with four doors. The car has a rounded roof with panoramic glazing.
