MOSCOW, Nov 18 - RIA Novosti. The Russian military department has received from the Kalashnikov Group of companies a batch of the latest anti-aircraft guided missiles (SAM) Strela-9M333, capable of effectively destroying cruise missiles and combat drones, the company's press service told reporters on Wednesday.
"The Kalashnikov Group of Companies has successfully completed the manufacture and delivery of 9M333 anti-aircraft guided missiles to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation as part of the state defense order," Kalashnikov said.
As Bekhan Ozdoev, industrial director of the Rostec State Corporation armament complex, noted, "9M333 anti-aircraft guided missiles, the first mass deliveries of which for the Russian Defense Ministry have just been completed by the Kalashnikov concern, will increase the effectiveness of the fight against low-flying aircraft and helicopters due to the significantly increased "tenacity" of the guidance system and greater combat power."
"Such ammunition allows you to fire on the principle of "shot and forgot", that is, after launching the missile, immediately change the location of the anti-aircraft missile system," Ozdoev added.
The digging group clarified that in December 2020, the 9M333 rocket passed qualification and flight tests that confirmed its compliance with the customer's requirements. In October of this year, successful periodic tests of the missile defense system took place.
The 9M333 missiles are used in the 9A34M3 and 9A35M3 combat vehicles of the Strela-10M3 anti-aircraft missile system. The missile homing head received three modes of operation: photo contrast, infrared and interference. The new ammunition is designed to defeat low-flying aircraft and helicopters at any time of the year when the enemy sets up organized optical interference, and is also capable of effectively fighting cruise missiles and various drones.
The range of hitting targets with the Arrow-9M333 reaches 5,000 m, while the speed of targets can be up to 679 m / s, and the flight altitude is from 10 to 3500 m.
The rocket is manufactured by JSC Concern Kalashnikov. For the first time it was presented to the general public in the summer of 2020 at the international military-technical forum "Army 2020".
