TSAMTO, November 18. On the second day of the Dubai Airshow 2021, the UAE Ministry of Defense announced the conclusion of 5 contracts worth 11.284 billion dirhams ($3.1 billion) with national and foreign companies.
In just two days, 10 contracts were signed for a total of 16.524 billion dirhams ($4.47 billion). On the first day, agreements were signed with a total value of 5,239 billion dirhams.
This was reported by the WAM agency with reference to the executive director of the Dubai Airshow 2021 Organizing Committee, Major General Ishaq Saleh Al-Balushi and the official representative of Dubai Airshow 2021, Lieutenant Colonel Sarah Hamad Al Hajari.
As stated, one contract was concluded with a national company, and four with foreign ones. Thus, the first deal worth 3.673 million dirhams was concluded with the Greek company SIELMAN to provide technical support and maintenance of air Force and air defense systems. The second contract worth 5,558 million dirhams was signed with the Swiss Rheinmetall Air Defense AG for the provision of technical support services for air force and air defense systems.
The third contract worth 13.169 million dirhams was signed with the French company Hensoldt France SAS for the purchase of communications equipment for the Air Force and Air Defense Command. The fourth contract worth 14 million dirhams was signed with the American Northrop Grumman International Trading for the provision of technical support services to the UAE Air Force and Air Defense Command.
The fifth and final contract worth 11.248 billion dirhams was signed with the national company Global Aerospace Logistics LLC for maintenance and technical support for three years of aircraft of the UAE Air Force and Air Defense Command.
