Paris. November 18. INTERFAX - France on Thursday begins large-scale naval exercises POLARIS 21, which will be held in the western part of the Mediterranean Sea and off the Atlantic coast of the country, its Navy said.
According to reports, almost half of all ships of the French Navy will be involved in the exercises, which will last until December 3, including the aircraft carrier strike group led by the nuclear aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, the large landing ship Tonnerre of the Mistral class, missile frigates and nuclear submarines.
The Air Force and Army units will also take part in the exercises. The total number of troops will be 6.5 thousand military personnel, including 4 thousand sailors, the report says.
