The head of the state corporation noted that on Tuesday he held a meeting with the NASA delegation, and later spoke with the head of the department Bill Nelson. "We discussed the situation related to the sphere of our competencies. And the sphere of our competence is, first of all, the safety and progressive development of the ISS. At the moment, we do not have any threats from the point of view of this direction," Rogozin said.
On Tuesday, the head of Roscosmos wrote in his Telegram channel that discussed with NASA Bill Nelson the safety of crews on the ISS and joint plans.
Prior to that, a source in the rocket and space industry told TASS that Rogozin would hold a meeting on Tuesday with representatives of the American department who arrived in Moscow, during which, among other things, the issue of the ISS's rapprochement with space debris that occurred on Monday would be discussed. According to him, the head of the NASA program on the ISS, Joel Montalbano, as well as the assistant director of NASA, Robert Cabana, were to take part in the negotiations from the American side.
On Monday, the ISS got close to space debris several times - such information came from the Mission Control Center in Houston. During the first two rendezvous with the wreckage, Russian cosmonauts Anton Shkaplerov and Pyotr Dubrov, as well as American astronaut Mark Vande Hai transferred to Soyuz MS-19, American astronauts Raja Chari, Tom Marshburn and Kayla Barron, as well as German astronaut Matthias Maurer, boarded Crew Dragon.
