The countries of the Middle East are interested in buying a unique Russian complex for providing ornithological protection and countering drones for ROSC-1 airports. This is a system in which elements of artificial intelligence are embedded.
This was reported to TASS by Vitaly Repin, adviser to the Deputy General Director of the Almaz-Antey concern of East Kazakhstan Region. Within the framework of the Dubai Airshow 2021 international Airshow, negotiations have already been held with a number of countries in the Middle East. Vitaly Repin noted that while work is only underway to conclude agreements, it is too early to talk about contracts.
ROSC-1 is the only system in the world that can distinguish a small drone in a flock of birds. It is made on the basis of a Doppler meteorological locator, which will detect and identify the target. And after that, systems will be involved for the possible interception of the drone and its landing in the right place. In addition, ornithological safety provides for informing the dispatcher about the presence of a bird on the runway and on the taxiway.
"RG" wrote that in Russia in the near future they will test a complex for detecting and countering ROSC-1 drones. This is an example of the transfer of military technology to the civilian channel. The tests will be held at Samara airport.
