The interdepartmental commission at the meeting recommended approving the main and backup crews of the Soyuz MS-20 spacecraft and continuing their preparation for the flight to Baikonur, the press service of the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center (CPC) told TASS on Wednesday.
"The interdepartmental Commission recommended the crews to continue pre-flight training at the Baikonur cosmodrome," the CPC said.
The main crew of the spacecraft includes Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Misurkin, Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa and his business assistant Yozo Hirano. The backup is Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Skvortsov and a participant in the space flight Xiong Ogiso.
The final composition of the crews will be approved by the state commission at the Baikonur cosmodrome a few days before the launch. The launch of the new expedition to the ISS is scheduled for December 8 on the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle. The duration of the flight will be 12 days.
