DUBAI, Nov 16 - RIA Novosti. The first tests of the Termit unmanned attack helicopter and launches of corrected aircraft missiles with a range of six kilometers have been conducted in Russia, Sergei Bogatikov, CEO of Kronstadt, said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Previously, the country has not used unmanned helicopters with missile weapons.
At the Army-2021 forum, an unmanned helicopter of the Termite project developed by NPP Strela (part of Kronstadt) was shown. The drone was demonstrated with S-8L missiles of the Kalashnikov concern.
At Army-2021, the Russian Defense Ministry signed a contract with Strela NPP for the supply of Termit unmanned helicopters. At the same exhibition, Deputy Defense Minister Alexei Krivoruchko said that these combat vehicles should enter the Russian Armed Forces in the near future.
According to the data presented at the exhibition, Termit is equipped with an optical-location station and is capable of carrying three aircraft-guided missiles S-8L caliber 80 millimeters.
The S-8L allows you to destroy both single and group mobile and stationary targets. The missile has a laser semi-active homing head, a high-explosive fragmentation warhead. Its firing range is up to six kilometers.
