TSAMTO, November 15. His Highness Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Emir of Dubai attended the presentation of the Checkmate light tactical aircraft.
According to the press service of Rostec Group, the event was held at the Dubai Airshow 2021 in the pavilion of Sukhoi, a holding company of Rostec State Corporation.
At the Dubai Airshow 2021, Rostec's newest aircraft is being presented abroad for the first time. As part of the event, the State Corporation holds presentations of the aircraft for the media and foreign delegations.
Checkmate is Russia's first fifth-generation single-engine aircraft, created by Sukhoi, part of Rostec State Corporation's UAC holding. For the first time, the fighter was presented in July 2021 at the MAKS-2021 Aerospace Salon. The key features of the aircraft are its low visibility, low cost of flight hours, open architecture and high performance according to the "efficiency-cost" criterion.
Earlier, Rostec posted a new video about the fighter. It is posted on the YouTube channels of the Rostec State Corporation and the United Aircraft Corporation. Along with a manned car, it shows footage of an unmanned Checkmate modification for the first time.
