According to him, for the time being, the equipment elements are being installed in the module. "I think that in the near future, when at least part of them will be installed, we will begin the first experiments in the module "Science", - said the agency interlocutor.
In addition, the urine water regeneration system installed in the module may soon start working. "I hope we will launch it in the near future, and it will work, give us additional water to the station," Shkaplerov said.
The Nauka module was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on July 21 and docked to the ISS on July 29. It is intended for the implementation of the Russian program of scientific and applied research and experiments, and will also provide astronauts with additional space for the arrangement of workplaces and cargo storage, placement of equipment for the regeneration of water and oxygen.
