TSAMTO, November 15. The Russian robotic complex "Marker" has received the possibility of autonomous cargo transportation, which opens up the prospects of using it as a "courier", warehouse worker or for the evacuation of the wounded from the battlefield.
This was stated in an interview with RIA Novosti by the chief designer-head of the laboratory of the NGO "Android Technology" Alexey Bogdanov.
"As part of the work on the Marker project, the technology of cargo transportation in offline mode is being tested. Cargo containers, specialized capsules for evacuation of the wounded, equipped with a life support system, fuel tanks and much more can be used as cargo. The robotic platform can independently carry out loading and unloading of containers and delivery to the designated point according to the route assignment," A. Bogdanov quotes RIA Novosti.
According to him, such systems in the future can be used to automate warehouse operations and provide autonomous cargo to remote units of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, infrastructure facilities of state corporations or private organizations.
The robot "Marker" was developed by the company "Android Technology" together with the Foundation for Advanced Research. The robotic complex weighing about three tons can be equipped with various weapons.
Earlier it was reported that the robotic platform "Marker" was tested at the Vostochny cosmodrome as a security robot. As noted by the head of the state corporation "Roscosmos" Dmitry Rogozin, these complexes can be used as part of security structures as devices that ensure the safety of cosmodromes, enterprises and other objects of national importance, RIA Novosti reports.
