MOSCOW, November 15/ Sputnik Radio. The flagship of the Sixth Fleet of the US Navy, Mount Whitney, began the transition from the Black Sea to the Mediterranean Sea after completing operations and exercises. This is reported by RIA Novosti.

"Mount Whitney... He began the transition to the south from the Black Sea after the completion of naval operations and exercises with NATO allies and partners on November 15," the fleet said in a Twitter message.

On board the ship are employees of the headquarters of the Sixth Fleet and the command of naval strike forces and NATO support (Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO, STRIKFORNATO).

The Russian Defense Ministry has previously stated that the Russian military is monitoring the movement of American ships in the Black Sea.

According to the department, the United States resorts to unscheduled actions to create a military group near the Russian borders, and one of Washington's goals in the Black Sea is the military development of Ukraine.

In particular, the United States is studying the situation in case of a military solution to the conflict in Donbass, the Russian military department noted.

Earlier, Sputnik radio reported that the United States conducted joint exercises with Ukraine, Turkey and Romania in the Black Sea.
